About this Program:
Hone your avalanche rescue skills with our Women’s Affinity AIARE Rescue Course. This course is for women (queer, trans, and cis-gendered) aiming to expand their avalanche rescue skills in a supportive and community-focused learning environment. This one-day course meets the highest standards in avalanche education and provides backcountry skiers and riders with skills to get out into the backcountry with respect and appropriate caution. The Avalanche Rescue Course teaches students to be leaders and participants in both basic and complex rescue scenarios.

It is recommended (but not required) that students take the AIARE 1 Course prior to the AIARE Rescue Course. Taking this course qualifies guests for our deeply discounted Alumni Mentorship tours and meets prerequisites requirements for the AIARE 2 Course.

Course Details:
Day 1 : We’ll spend some time at the trailhead discussing equipment and rescue techniques. Then, we’ll choose a nearby field location to run through as many rescue scenarios as possible, focusing on smooth application of skills and good communication among rescuers. We’ll close the day with a debrief, feedback and advice to help students continue to build their rescue skill sets beyond the course.

As with all our avalanche courses, once you take the AIARE Rescue Course with us, you qualify for our Avalanche Mentorship Tours! These are regular, affordable tour days throughout the season led by avalanche professionals that provide you the opportunity to gain mentorship and connect with like minded peers.
